Inquiring of the Lord

This chapter is a very interesting. On the surface it may not seem like things have changed much in David’s situation. David is still in fear for his life, he is still on the run from King Saul and he still does not seem close to fulfilling God’s plan for his life. David does not seem to be living the life of someone who will someday sit upon the throne of Israel. But even though the circumstances look bad, God still has his hand upon David. God is still moving in David’s life and preparing him to be king and this chapter details for us a very important step in that process. I want us to look at this passage today in a message entitled “Inquiring of the Lord.” The first thing I want to talk about is the reason for the inquiry.
