A cold front is passing through the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states bringing a dry cool air mass into the Eastern US that will last for the rest of the week and even for the start of the weekend. Rain is falling along the Central Gulf Coast. Showers up and down the Rockies and the Pacific Northwest. Category 3 Hurricane Sam continues northwest and will turn northward in the next few days passing east of Bermuda late week and possibly heading to Newfoundland Friday night or Saturday.
