The following video presents audio excerpts from an actual Bay Alarm Medical call between our dispatcher and emergency contact.
-------------------------------
What happens if the dispatcher can't reach the subscriber?
During an emergency, the Bay Alarm Medical dispatcher will check the status of the subscriber. The dispatcher will come over the two-way speaker on the subscriber's main device to assess what type of help is needed by the subscriber.
In the case that the subscriber cannot be heard, the Bay Alarm Medical dispatcher will try to call the subscriber on the phone. If they cannot establish communication, they will always treat the alarm like an emergency and follow the protocol on your emergency list. Bay Alarm Medical default's local 911 services to be called first, but subscribers can simply request others to be called prior to 911 (on the Contact Information Form).
In this video, you will see that the dispatcher could not establish any communication with the subscriber, so they notified their first emergency.
